The first successful semi-auto shotgun created; the Browning Auto-5 has a 5 round magazine cap and fires slugs that pierce body armour.

Gameplay

This weapon is a semi-automatic shotgun that fires slug ammunition. It does less damage than most other shotguns that fire buckshot, but it is incredibly accurate and also can penetrate body armour (but it can't effectively damage heavy armour or chitin). Amongst all of James' shotguns, this one is the most accurate and the most capable at long range, especially if you aim through its iron sights by pressing Alt-fire. Also, the rate of fire of this gun is pretty fast - it fires as fast as you can tap the Fire button. But be aware of the fact that the magazine of this gun holds only 5 shells and must be reloaded shell by shell, so engagements with large groups of enemies are ill-advised. In addition, Auto-5 can take alternate ammo types, like explosive or flechette shells.

Location

You can find Auto-5 in the Welcome to Millhaven level. It is located in a small building near the lake in the upper half of Millhaven.

Upgrades

There are no upgrades for the Auto-5.

Trivia

Unlike most other semi-auto shotguns, Auto-5 can use alternate ammo.
