Far Mountain Reaches is a mandatory story mission in Episode 2 starring James.
Mission Summary[]
A secret data processing facility in Switzerland suddenly went dark. No way it's just an accident, and footage seems to confirm a cultists presence in the area. They may be covering some information. James must take them out and infiltrate the facility.
Gameplay[]

Far Mountain Reaches
Proceed through the caves and cliffs northwest. Kill any cultist standing in your way. Eventually you'll come upon a castle on the cliff. There is a small house not far from the castle. Inside you can find a silver key. Use that key to open the doors of the castle. Go down to the basement, the entrance to which is located in the center of the castle. Take out some converted, then pick up the red access keycard and some supplies is in the left hallway. After going through the red door, go to the control room and hit the switch next to the security monitor (this will open the door on the bottom of the pit outside and also spawn two Cybertours). Backtrack to outside of the castle and head down the cliff using a ladder near the open fence. Go into the cave. Keep going straight to the elevator.
Dark Truths
You have finally reached the data processing facility. Head straight through. When you reach the second room with big green boxes (and a large yellow door), go into the security room up the stairs. There's a red keycard in there. Backtrack to the beginning area and open the red door. Make your way through the long corridors, eliminate all converted soldiers and demons you meet on your way. Take the elevator, continue moving forvard. Eventually, through the large energy room, you will come to the control room with a large window. Here you can find a yellow key, as well some supplies including body armour and a missile launcher. Now head back. In the large room you will be ambushed by the demons. Take them out. Suddenly, the room exit will be blocked by the magical forcefield, and you'll be forced to fight the Dark Avatar. After the fight, backtrack to the room with the green and grey boxes and open the yellow door. Work you way through the long passageways up to the surface where the AMC ship will be waiting for you.
Secrets[]
Far Mountain Reaches:
- When you are on the roof of the castle, head to the diagonally opposite corner and head back down. This corner room is normally locked from the other side.
- If you go around the backside of the map along the cliff edges, there is a weak wall that can be blown open with an explosive.
- To unlock the Lurking Fear, you need to hit 3 switches in order:
- Near the start right before you jump down from the cave, turn around.
- In the cave with the large hole in the ceiling not far away from the castle.
- After #2, head outside and, before reaching the castle, go to the left and up the cliff.
After opening the door in the blue cave, head left past spider webs. You will be transported to Lurking Fear.
Dark Truths:

Dark Truths secret
- After getting the key, press on the control panel on the right. There are 2 health powerups here. Then press on the wall inside this room to access the Rocket-Grenade Launcher and other supplies outside the window. Watch out for a Hadesphere that will spawn.
Weapons & Artifacts[]
- UMP45 (Weapon, James): Found after the yellow door in Dark Truths. To the right, there are green crates behind the fence. The weapon is in the briefcase atop one of these crates.
Other Items of interest[]
- In the men's bathroom right before getting the red key card in the security room there is a Spirit Shield. But wait, there is more. Go to the toilet stall on the very right and open the vent to find magnum shotgun shells. There's another vent within the vent that contains a health amulet and some ammo.
