A single fire handheld grenade launcher that can shoot 40mm cased rounds.
Overview[]
This break-action launcher, a good old Thumper, lobs grenades at the enemy. It's similar to James' 40mm Launcher. It fires 40mm grenades that fly in a slight arc trajectory. Grenades will explode upon impact. It can deal a great amount of damage towards regular targets, as well as those with body-armour or chitin, but it's ineffective against heavy armoured, robotic or supernatural opponents. It's splash radius is slightly bigger than you might expect, so you can blow up two or even more weaker enemies at once. It's also a reasonably good weapon to deal with bosses and other tough foes, especially if you have some cover nearby; pop out, fire a grenade directly at them, take cover to avoid its return fire, and repeat. Moreover, like all explosive weapons, M79 can be used to blast open cracks in walls. It can also fire all kinds of alternate 40mm cased rounds, such as HE or Plasma shells, making it really versatile.
