A supressed MP5 with attached red dot sight. Fires subsonic 9mm ammo, making it virtually silent. The red dot enhances accuracy and the M203 provides extra heavy artillery when push comes to shove. Uses a standard 30-round magazine.

Gameplay

MP5 is a supressed submachinegun. It has high rate of fire, good enough accuracy and controllable recoil even with continuous fire, making it viable even for rather long ranges if you fire in short bursts. It is equipped with holosight as well, by pressing Alt-fire you can aim through the sight, increasing zoom by a little and making your shots even more accurate. MP5 fires subsonic rounds that deal reduced damage against body armour and can't pierce heavy armour, but deal normal damage to chitin. However, it's rounds deal pretty low damage per shot (in terms of power per bullet, it is the weakest of James' slot 4 weapons) and 30 round mags can feel short, but reloading is fairly quick. Its integral suppressor makes it a viable choice for stealth operations (like Xuglop Assault). This gun also has an M203 underbarrel grenade launcher that can fire all kinds of cased 40mm grenades, making it useful for encountering groups of weaker foes or softening up larger targets.

There are no upgrades for the MP5.

Trivia

This weapon was probably inspired by the MP5 from Half-Life and the MP5-M203 Grenade combination from the movie End of Days.
