Metropolitan Starlight is an optional EDF Side Mission. It is unlocked after completing Egypt.
Mission Summary[]
A large, epic space city which the Cycloids have invaded. Visit exotic locations, wipe out the alien scum, and just to be on the safe side: activate the city's self destruct and blow everything to hell.
Gameplay[]
You start inside the Scent-88 club, take an elevator up to the suite. Get behind the rotating rooms (Game Room & Library) and hit the switches inside to disable the window force field, then jump out. Make sure you grab the amulet, a massive explosion will happen. Try landing into the water around the central tower. After dealing with the opposition surrounding you, take the waterfall down into the big drainage looking area. Climb up on the left side and head to the end of the walkway with a weapon and a Plasma Commander, then head into the opened security room with Enforcers. Put in a switch combination to open entry to a portal chamber on the other side of the drainage. When you enter the teleporter, you'll be taken to a high walkway on the left side of the drainage. Press the switch at the end to disable a force field to the metro station. Take a tram and head down into a bar to get a blue keycard, then go back up and use it next to the force field, but be prepared for a Battlelord. Afterwards, head back to the central tower and take a road down, there will be a blown up wall on the right with a C4 for the manhole. Blow it up and jump in. Shoot the switch in the right sewage container, then grab the keycard in the left one. Go into a sewer system, jump down into the big pool, grab the yellow keycard and enter the big arena. Grab the jetpack and fly up into the reactor area. Enter inside and do another massive battle with Cycloid forces. Open up the reactor and blow it up, then head back into the central area. Now that you have the jetpack, fly up into the Upper City. Activate the sentry bot and head through the newly made hole. Proceed into the police station, grab the keycard behind the stand and press the switch inside. This will open the central tower a bunch of battlelords and Assault Commanders. Take the teleporter inside the tower and hit the nuke switch (stay away from the windows).
Secrets[]
There are 8 secrets in Metropolitan Starlight.
- In the central circular plaza at the beginning, climb up on the short multi-tiered building beside the water. There is a switch on the wall that opens one of the grates in the sidewalk.
- In the large canal area after the short waterfall, on the side with the tall wall and large translucent billboard. Towards the tunnel on that side is a switch that lets you ride an elevator up to the raised scaffolding. Jump off the scaffolding towards the wall to climb over and drop into a small area with an amulet and ammunition.
- From the same scaffolding as secret 2, go to the very far end and hit the switch on the pole. This temporarily raises the bars in a tunnel on the wall behind the pole. Take an angled running jump to land in for armor and ammo.
- In the bar after the train ride, enter the stage area and turn right. There's a bathroom door that can be blasted open for slot 5 ammunition.
- In the police station breakroom, shoot a hole in the side of one of the ducts overhead and jump-duck in, then crawl through to either side.
- Keep crawling to the other side of the ducts.
- In the lobby of the police station, there is an amulet hidden behind the shrubbery in the corner that counts as a secret.
- In the room with the switch that opens the reactor core area, on the low right side of the computer console is a switch. Hit it to open a ductway in the corner of the room. Crawl through this duct to a vent overlooking the next room and shoot the large button, causing the central structure to raise open and reveal the final secret. You can also use a jetpack to get it earlier as well.
Collectibles[]
- Starfighter Picture (next to the window in the suite)
- Grovyle Figure (next to the cash register in the bar)
