Necromancer

Naaldir, more commonly known as the Necromancer, is an ancient practitioner of the dark magic and the nemesis of Merlijn and Maarten. Together, the brothers defeated the Necromancer and his dark hordes in the Netherlands, but he managed to escape.

Necromancer appeared in Forgotten Tomb. Instead of fighting himself, he summoned and sent a Dark Avatar against Merlijn. When he defeated the foul creature, the Necromancer escaped again, but not before telling Merlijn that he will be waiting for him and the rest of the AMC Squad at a place known only as "Elysion", located on the other side of the Milky Way.

Having arrived on the Ringworld, AMC Squad found out that Naaldir is a lot more than he seemed. The Necromancer has been watching the squadmates when they doing missions throughout Elysion. He did not personally engage the team, instead preferring to send his forces, but sometimes he suddenly bursted into view as a hallucination with a loud noise, and summoned either a Lost or a Void Totem. In the course of time, the team has made an assault at Naaldir's Keep, and confronted the Necromancer. Prior to the assault, Le Sang provided Sang with information on how to defeat him. Rusty faced Naaldir's physical body, then Sang took on the mind, while Kagura fought the soul in the Ethereal Realm. The battle was ferocious, but eventually they defeated Naaldir.

Bestiary Information

There are three separate entries of Naaldir in the bestiary, one for each phase.

Naaldir's Body

The physical body of Naaldir, the wicked necromancer. The body itself is fairly frail... for a demi-god in anycase.

Naaldir's Mind

Naaldir's mind, poisoned by pure hatred for all life. Having learned what the Engineers did, it's not entirely without merit.

Naaldir's Soul

The final piece of Naaldir; the conjoined soul of countless lives, murdered by the Engineers in their abominable galactic experiment to achieve the impossible. We can only hope that destroying it has finally granted them all peace.

• Naaldir's Mind is most likely based on the Helltime Hunter from Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil expansion pack.
• Same goes for Naaldir's Soul, which is most likely based on Tchernobog from Blood.
• Naaldir has his own Chibi that will be collected upon completing Naaldirs Keep.
