Background[]
Nasty floating three-eyed octopus-like monsters. The Octabrains role is different from the other Cycloids. They're usually seen in the nests guarding the Protozoid eggs. They can both fly and swim underwater.
The Octabrains have three different attacks. By channeling their psychic powers, they can be able to spit out mind blast orbs, which can deal a lot of psychic damage. When underwater, they can also force their prey to lose some air by using their psychic powers. They can also bite when close, though it doesn't deal as much damage compared to the mind blast orbs.
A Octabrain controlling a dead EDF Soldier
Very rarely, an Octabrain may be seen carrying a dead body of either an AMC soldier, EDF soldier, or even a dead Pig Cop. The worst part about this is they can actually possess the dead body by using their tentacles to dig into their brains. Because of this the Octabrains can make the dead body fire their own guns at their targets. It seems as though the Octabrains will drop the dead body when getting hurt, so if you see an Octabrain carrying a dead body, fire at them quickly to make them drop it.
According to the EAF scientists, it is Octabrains who produce the green slime that the aliens use for their incubation pods and bizarre slime creatures. It seems that the Octabrains possess the ability to transform organic matter into that slime.
Using the MIA Gun on the Octabrain will unlock the Mind Shield research project.
Variants[]
There are two variant of the Octabrain.
- The first variant is brownish green, and also have brown eyes. Despite having a different appearance, they behave exactly like the normal Octabrains. These variants can only be found in the Forgotten Tomb and in Dracula's Castle.
- The second variant is more blue and only has two yellow eyes instead of three. This variant appears in Release the Scui-Crak during the Kraken boss fight.
Bestiary Information[]
Large physically powerful creatures; we believe they are also responsible for green slimy tentacles endemic to the Cycloid army. Their attacks are slow but are extremely dangerous if it manages to hit. We've also observed them being able to suck the oxygen from an agent's lungs if battled underwater; practice extreme caution.
MIA Description[]
Autopsy confirms the Megabase scientists' findings; they are indeed engineered from a different creature, one with incredible powers. We can only hope we never meet one.

Connection to the Beyonders[]
According from research made by the EAF in the Megabase, it may seem that these monstrosities are actually mass-produced clones that the Cycloids made by using DNA from another highly advanced creature from long ago. However, the Cycloids, scared of their powers, genetically modified Octabrains to be far less intelligent than their predecessors. These predecessors is rumored to be the Beyonders.
