Picbonear Reservoir is one of the first mandatory story missions of Episode 4.

Mission Summary[]

According to some rumors that Tenrete heard, there's supposed to be some tech buried near Picbonear Reservoir, not that far away from the Snowflake crash site. Hoping to salvage anything of value for the team and also find out something about the creators of the Ringworld, Snowfall heads to this region.

Gameplay[]

Picbonear Reservoir[]

Recruit Huey the dog, pick up a crossbow and some mana and follow down the path. Deal with a group of orcs, archers and berserkers, gather some goodies, including a shotgun, and enter through the stone gate. When you reach the tall hallways with the windows with a view to the huge semi-flooded hall, go right, head down the slopes, then turn right again. Go downstairs and you'll get into a big semicircular room. Eliminate all the opposition here, then get to the platform and hit the switch. Watch out for the beholders. Then backtrack to the tall hallways and go right again. When entering an intersection, go straight ahead, then up the stairs, as the bars here will be raised now. Past the first bars, go right and follow the hallway. You'll enter a big room with a small pool of water just below the platform you're on. Jump down to the bottom floor to get some C-4 on the AMC boxes. Head back to the intersection. From the stairs, go left. At the very end plant the C-4 charge. Enter the cave, and face the Troll guarding the entrance to the underground tech base.

The Engineers[]

Enter the big round room and you'll notice a teleporter in the center that is locked off. You will need to make your way across the map to the control room and flip the switch there to unlock it. However, there are multiple pathways to reach there, and each one is crawling with enemies, including elite archers and berserkers, ogres and sometimes even trolls. However, you'll come across a lot of weapons, ammo and other stuff too. Fight your way through the corridors. In the middle of the map there is an Engineer AI hologram that you can talk to. You will be looking for some slopes which will finally lead you to a control room. Flip the switch here, and then go back. Watch out for more enemies that just spawned in after hitting the switch. Make your way back to the teleporter.

From the Suns[]

From the start, gather some supplies. Then enter the blue tunnel. At the end of the tunnel there is a Conservator waiting for you. After beating the drone, continue down the hallway, talk to the Engineer AI hologram, then proceed further down the hallway (don't forget to pick up new weapon and the research project). Make your way outside, take out some more Necromancer's minions. Ride on a horse and follow the path to the exit.

Secrets[]

There are a total of 8 secrets in this mission.

Picbonear Reservoir[]

  1. Dive into the small lake just outside the building, and swim to the cave down in the bottom. You'll then enter a flooded hallway. Swim left (to the right is the huge semi-flooded hall, and this is an alternate way to get to there). At the end of the underwater hallways, enter another cave, and in the end you'll resurface in a room with treasures and a slot 4 weapon. Not far away from here you'll find an enchanted shield and a shortcut.
  2. In the huge spacious semi-flooded hall, go up the stairs, and then jump onto the platform from which the archers were shooting at you. Enter the big hole, and look for a hallway in the dark. You'll get to a room with treasure and a platinum amulet.
  3. Once again in the semi-flooded hall, there is a hole underwater in the middle. Follow the underwater passage until you find a place to surface. Here you'll find a room with some more gold and a Magic Upgrade Orb. Watch out, a Nether Brute ends up spawning behind you when you pick up the orb. Note: Continuing the underwater path will lead you to the big room with the switch.
  4. In the area with the troll, dive into one of the two small water pools. There's a crack in either one that needs to be blown up. Swim into the path, until you see a hole in the wall. Enter it, then surface to find more treasures and a Rotatery bolt weapon.

The Engineers[]

  1. From the start, go left. Enter the small console room with the engineer shield. There is a hidden crack on the across the room, (aim for the cables) from where you entered (If entering from the start of the level). When blown up, enter the hole to find some health, HMG and an Engineer SMG.
  2. From secret #1, go through the hallway where the Engineer SMG is. At the end, open the hidden door and enter the big vent to find two gold amulets and a lightning gun.
  3. In the room where you can talk to the Engineer hologram, there is a switch high up on a pillar. Shoot it and a hidden door will open with some health, ammo for lightning gun and Super armour.

From the Suns[]

  1. After you leave the Engineer base, in the caves, there is a small pool to the right. Dive into the pool, follow the path and resurface in a small cave. Here you'll find some treasures and the Dog Chibi.

Other Items of Interest[]

  • In Picbonear Reservoir, in the big semicircular room with the switch on the platform go out to the balcony to get a spirit shield and a couple of healing flasks. But that's not all. You can find a psionic shield and body armour on the eaves on the left and right.

Research Projects[]

  • Engineer Systems - can be found in the room with the Engineer hologram that you can talk to. Alternately, you can also get it, along with Zaxtor's Annihilator, after defeating the Conservator.

Weapons & Artifacts[]

  • Annihilator (Weapon, Zaxtor): Can be found after defeating the Conservator along with the Engineer Systems.

Trivia[]

  • You need to complete this mission to repair the research terminal and be able to use it in Episode 4, so it's recommended to beat this mission first.
