This is the Cultist's Slot 8 weapon, the Rotary Gun.

Cult Rotary

A high-power weapon ideal for laying down fire. Although it takes time for revv-up, it has a mean kick.

Overview[]

This weapon is a kind of jury-rigged custom-built minigun. While surprisingly accurate and capable of immense firepower, Rotary Gun requires some planning to use, as it spends a full second revving up before unleashing a hail of hot lead. If the trigger is held down, then after a moment it'll spin up and start shooting. It does not require reloading, so once it starts shooting, it will not stop until all ammo is depleted or the trigger is released. If the trigger was only pressed once without holding it at all, it will fire 1 round, after which it'll spin down. This method of firing requires a conscientious user to properly overcome.

Rotary Gun is useful for taking out large numbers of weaker enemies, if you have enough ammunition. It's also capable against stronger and more dangerous foes, but there is some skill involved in knowing when to pull the trigger. One tactic is to take cover and then start firing roughly a second before actually emerging from cover into their view, in order to start spinning up the gun so that it is firing when you emerge. This weapon can penetrate armour, but is much less effective against enemies with chitin or supernatural protection. Also, be mindful of the kick-back, for it can slowly send you backwards the longer you fire this gun; however, this kick-back does not affect your aim otherwise.
