Background[]
These are not your everyday garden spiders! These arachnid creatures will try and nibble your ankles with oversized mandibles after chasing you down with elongated legs. Mostly though, they can be considered nuisance enemies, but don’t let their size fool you. If you’re not careful, these critters can do quite a bit of damage when in groups.
Spiders usually crawl on the ground, but sometimes can attack you from the ceiling. They bite when they get close, and their poison causes dimness of vision. The effect is temporary, but multiple bites have cumulative effect. They can also spit venom. The green spit will run down your screen and distort it momentarily. When taken enough damage, the spiders will turn upside down on the floor, making it possible to crush them under your boot.
You can come across the smaller spiders in the underground caves in Egypt or Forgotten Tomb. Elysion spiders are much bigger than the ones found on Earth and can be encountered in the Winderwell Forest, Supply Run or in the Sky Caves.
Using the MIA Gun, or the stun scanner flash on a Spider, will unlock the Acid Nullifier research project.
Variants[]
Spiders can come in various different colors:
- Red (spritepal 21) - small and weak itsy-bitsy spiders, but their bite can cause dimness of your vision.
- Green (spritepal 11) - slightly larger and tougher than the red ones. Can mess up your vision, too.
- Blue (spritepal 0) - larger, tougher and can deal more damage than the previous two. Can't mess up your vision thankfully.
- Brown (spritepal 36) - slightly smaller than the blue ones, but tougher than them.
- Dark Green (spritepal 56) - bigger than the previous variants, but just as tough as the brown ones.
- Gray (spritepal 12) - the mother spider. Has much more health than the other spider variants. Can't spit venom, but can repeatedly give birth to red and green spiders. That's not how spiders are born, but whatever, what do we know about Elysion arachnids anyway?

- These enemies are probably based on the spiders from Blood, and mother spider is based on Shial.
- If you have arachnophobia, there is an option in the game settings that removes spiders from the game.
